Sweet Dreams are Made of These…Introducing the Sanrio Loves Sugarfina Collection!

What happens when your most beloved childhood character and your favorite adult indulgence meld together?  None other than the cutest, most nostalgic, and delicious collaboration ever!  Sanrio and Sugarfina have come together and released the new Sanrio Loves Sugarfina collection.  Inspired by none other than the adorably timeless Hello Kitty and her dearest friends, the collection includes candy cubes and candy bento boxes that bring smiles and joy to children and adults alike.

The collaboration was a long-time in the making in that Sugarfina’s headquarters is just down the street from one of Sanrio’s North American offices in Los Angeles.  Known for it’s sophisticated and elegant candy boutiques, which has expanded to over 24 cities and 15 Nordstrom shops around the country, the collaboration with long-time, lifestyle brand icon, Sanrio, only seemed natural.

After searching for the most premium ingredients to perfect the reminiscently delectable flavors, the first Hello Kitty gummy was born.  In the shape of Hello Kitty’s irresistibly lovable face, the collaborators decided it was to be flavored as Hello Kitty’s favorite food, her mama’s homemade apple pie!  In further homage to the iconic character, a sweet strawberry flavored gummy in the shape of her signature red bow was added to the collection.

With the perfection of these Hello Kitty candies, it only seemed natural to create signature, gourmet flavors reflecting the personalities of each of her memorable friends. The collection features Keroppi Donut Pond Jelly Beans (sweet and tart key lime), Gudetama Lazy Gummy Eggs (tangy orange), My Melody Sweet Chocolate Pearls (milk chocolate beads with hard candy shell), Chococat Chocolate Sea Salt Caramels (chewy, sweet caramel covered in milk chocolate), and our favorite, Batz-Maru Mischievous Chocolate Pops (milk chocolate spheres with a surprising pop-rock center)!

Growing up as little girls, it was hard to resist the charm of Hello Kitty and her friends.  The cross-generational appeal was instantly evident as two grown mothers walked into the Oakbrook Neiman Marcus launch event and were simultaneously transported to a time of sheer and utter nostalgia!  In addition to posing with an enchanting, “real life” Hello Kitty, our senses and taste buds were delighted with colorful and tasty treats from creamy, strawberry milkshakes; intricately frosted cookies; and of course, a sampling of all the featured confections.  The displays were vibrant and whimsical, showcasing the individual candy cubes, which you could choose to pair in a red, bow-shaped box, or beautifully present in a limited-edition bento trio.
