As you may know, Chinatown was recently declared a State-Designated Cultural District by Governor J.B. Pritzker through an application submitted by the Coalition for a Better Chinese American Community (CBCAC), with the help of partner organizations.

To celebrate, CBCAC is hosting We Are Chinatown on July 13th at Ping Tom Memorial Park. It will be a community-based cultural festival to announce this designation and invite the community to come together and experience all that Chinatown is! There will be culturally authentic performances, family-friendly activities, and speakers to congratulate Chinatown. There will also be time for community members and visitors from the Chicagoland area to walk around and discover all that Ping Tom Park has to offer. We encourage those who are regulars and those who have never been to come and engage with our community during this exciting celebration of culture.
