What Do They say about TGFS?
The world of cabaret is busting open with the entrance of the Great Filipino Songbook. …. How exciting to hear hidden musical treasures retrieved from the island nation (the Philippines) by Lou Ella Rose's SamaSama Project. Lou Ella reveals their history with a voice that ranges from mellow to gutsy, with humor and pathos. She is backed up by a multi-piece band of highly charged and original arrangements. Take the journey and come home with a fresh view of the world beyond our borders.  - Claudia Hommel, Working In Concert.
SamaSama Project's recent performance left me wanting more. It was a fascinating exploration of the Great Filipino Songbook, showcasing the band's incredible talent and passion for music. It was inspiring to see the pride and influence of the great Filipino songwriters, whose music is a true connection between the Philippines and America. .. SamaSama Project's performance was a unique opportunity to connect with my cultural heritage and learn about a fascinating history that we can't get anywhere else.
