CMAA’s Dim Sum & Then Some race offers participants a unique experience, with all proceeds reinvested back into the community through the hard work of our staff and their programming. Runners are treated to cultural experiences such as our lion head dancers performing a traditional Chinese dance signifying good fortune to kick off the race. Finishers will receive delicious dim sum and bubble tea while enjoying performances by CMAA’s youth dance troupes. With our race CMAA endeavors for people from all over Chicago to experience the rich heritage and diversity that Uptown and its residents have to offer. This year’s race proceeds will support our COVID-19 emergency relief efforts. CMAA has been supporting clients in combating the economic effects of the crisis, including launching new emergency services. Proceeds from the race will help us to expand our efforts in providing direct financial assistance to low-income families affected by the crisis, assisting them with housing payments, utility costs, food, and any other immediate needs.
