ROAR Story Slam - Call for Submissions

KoreanAmericanStory.org's ROAR Story Slam is an annual competition where 6 selected contestants showcase their oral storytelling about their Korean American experience in front of a live audience for a chance to win a cash prize of up to $1,000. This is our second year hosting this event in Chicago! Our theme for this year’s Story Slam is “Metamorphosis”. What was a major turning point or transformation in your life? How did that impact you? Though we love stories about family and food, we encourage you to explore areas such as work, physical and mental health, relationships, language, sexuality, and society. Try different styles (narrative or spoken word) and tones (light or heavy, comedic or dramatic, or somewhere in between), but all stories must be about your own real-life experiences, as you remember them. You must be 18 years or older to enter and submissions MUST be in English.
