Join us for an illuminating celebration on March 21st from 7 pm to 10 pm, where we'll delve into the cultural richness of this time-honored festival here at Hairpin Arts Center.

Rooted in history that stretches back over 5,000 years, Nowruz transcends borders and civilizations, originating from the ancient civilizations of Sumeria and Babylon. Despite its association with the Persian Empire, Nowruz predates it, serving as a testament to humanity's enduring quest for renewal and rebirth.

As the sun sets and the festivities commence, immerse yourself in the elemental symbolism of Nowruz. Experience the ceremonial lighting of fires on each of the four Tuesdays preceding the festival, representing the transformative power of Water, Fire, Earth, and Wind. Feel the exhilaration as participants leap over flames on the final Tuesday, a ritual signifying purification and the casting off of past burdens.
