It has been an inspiring year for the South Asian American community. We have made exciting strides in representation and engagement, and IADO is working hard to continue making inroads.
Our banquet will be an opportunity to celebrate the victories of the past year and ensure we are able to continue doing vital political engagement and advocacy to support our community especially with the fast approaching primary elections.
We will be joined by Mayor Lori Lightfoot as our Keynote Speaker.
Established in 1980, the Indo-American Democratic Organization is one of the oldest and active South Asian American political action committees in the country. IADO is the leading political voice for the 250,000+ South Asian Americans in Illinois and works tirelessly to engage every South Asian American in the political process. We endorse candidates at every level of government who share our progressive community values. And over the years, we’ve become the community’s advocate on key policy issues such addressing the rise of hate crimes, comprehensive and humane immigration reform, access to high-quality public education, strengthening retirement security and equitable access to vital government services
