Join us for the groundbreaking thriller from legendary director Sam Fuller, The Crimson Kimono.  Set in Los Angeles' Little Tokyo neighborhood, this film noir featuring two police detectives, one Japanese American (played by James Shigeta) and one white (played by Glenn Corbett), explores themes of race, loyalty and duty as the two men try to solve the murder of an exotic dancer.  British actress Victoria Shaw is the key witness both detectives fall for and strive to protect from the killer.

This event is a joint presentation of the Asian American Services Committee of the Chicago Public Library for Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and the Community Cinema film screening program.
