Event Date: September 19, 2026 (2PM)

A Plot of One’s Own 一亩三分地 looks at the resourcefulness and beauty of the “farm-gardens” found throughout Chicago’s Chinatown and Chinese American communities across the diaspora.

Despite limited green space, backyard jungles, improvised vegetable plots, and fresh produce have become familiar features of Chinese communities around the world.

Bringing together ten Chinese diasporic artists, CAMOC’s archives, objects, and research, the exhibition digs into the relationships between land, food, migration, memory, neighborhood ecosystems, and home.
