About the Show:

Chicago’s 1st South Asian Festival Showcase is an event curated to represent the Chicagoland South Asian community across social justice, dance, fashion, film, and music. It aims to bring together the South Asian community across the diaspora while inviting members of all communities and lived experiences to experience the stories and skills of our performers, panelists, and presenters. An innovative and collaborative way to kick off the South Asian festival season for the first time in Chicago!

• 11:20 AM - 12:20 PM: Dance Performances by Ameya Performing Arts, Movement of Desis, Shakti Queen Beats, and Asha Rowland
• 12:20 PM - 12:35 PM: Intermission
• 12:35 PM - 1:05 PM: South Asian Short Film Screening
• 1:10 PM - 1:20 PM: Comedy by Najah Bhatty
• 1:20 PM - 2:00 PM: South Asian Fashion Walk
• 2:00 PM - 2:10 PM: Intermission
• 2:15 PM - 2:55 PM: Music Performances by Kavin Lavari, Butter Chicken Brass Band, Vivek Agrawal, and Brown Sugar A Capella
• 3:00 PM - 3:05 PM: Presentation: "South Asians Supporting South Asians" by Priya Shah
• 3:05 PM - 3:10 PM: Closing Remarks and Performer Walk Out
