Event Date: May 10, 2025 12:00PM – 3:00PM

Handmaking books is a Japanese art that has been preserved for centuries. Introduce yourself or your child to this tradition through a guided tutorial on how to make a "sempuyo," a Japanese book with accordion-style pages. The term "sempuyo" means "flutter" or "butterfly" and refers to the graceful movement of the pages when turned. This project will help your child develop their creative writing and fine motor abilities while crafting a fun memento.

This event is for kids 6 and older, but all ages are welcomed.
