Lunar New Year is just around the corner! Originally a ceremonial day to pray for good harvest, Lunar New Year has evolved to become a celebration of family, friends, and fortune. This year is the year of the Ox, the second animal of the zodiac. The ox symbolizes hard work, positivity, and honesty that will be manifested in all of us in the coming 12 months. Come learn about Lunar New Year traditions and how they vary from culture to culture from two Pageant winners, Brittany and Laetitica, who will share stories from their childhood as well as myths, taboos, and other fun rituals.

While celebrations may look different this year, the meaning still holds true--to ring in the beginning of spring and wish good fortune to loved ones. Join us on February 18, 2021 to virtually celebrate the festival and ensure good luck for the rest of the year!
