Join us at 4:30pm on April 9, 2025 at in the Ceremonial Courtroom of the Everett M. Dirksen U.S. Courthouse for a discussion on birthright citizenship, the principle by which anyone born in a country is a citizen of that country.

Learn about the historical foundations of birthright citizenship in the United States in the 14th Amendment and the 1898 case US v. Wong Kim Ark, the current challenges seeking to limit it, including Executive Order 14160, the efforts to defend it, and the potential impact and implications for the future.

This event is co-sponsored by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the Asian American Bar Association of Greater Chicago (AABA Chicago), the Cook County Bar Association, the Hispanic Lawyers Association (HLAI), and the Federal Bar Association Chicago Chapter.
