Workshop on How to Respond to Harassment & Practice Resilience When People Experience Anti-Asian/American Harassment.

A 60–75 minute, highly interactive, resilience-building workshop that fosters healing for individuals affected by anti-Asian harassment.

To help alleviate the rise in Anti-Asian hate and harassment experienced by our community members, SAAPRI is partnering with Right To Be and Asian Americans Advancing Justice (AAJC) to present workshops on How to Respond to Harassment & Practice Resilience When People Experience Anti-Asian/American Harassment. For this session, we are excited to partner with Hamdard Health Alliance, a culturally responsive healthcare and support service provider serving Chicagoland's diverse communities.

Together, we will explore practical, culturally relevant strategies that South Asian Americans can use to navigate and respond to harassment. Participants will learn bystander intervention techniques, de-escalation strategies, methods for supporting individuals who experience harm, and approaches for strengthening personal and community resilience. Whether you have personally experienced harassment, witnessed discrimination targeting South Asians, support immigrant families, work with community members, or simply want to be better prepared to respond when harassment occurs, your participation matters.

This is just the beginning. To learn more about the vision behind this program, the community need it addresses, and the impact we hope to create together, we invite you to read the full feature about our first training and the AHT series in our newsletter. It provides the background, context, and goals that bring this initiative to life.
