Please join the Richard J. Daley Library and Bridgeport community for a book discussion of Flawless by Elise Hu.
Flawless examines histories and different perspectives of beauty standards. The book especially focusses on South Korea's K-beauty industry and what this consumerist, obsessive culture means in regard to how people find beauty and more. Hu weaves together memoir with her experiences as a mother and woman in Seoul along with analysis of and introspection of beauty culture. The book is interspersed with interviews and perspectives of other women, as it presents a very personal examination of Korea's current beauty culture.
