A Just Chi is a space for Asian American grassroots activists, organizers, and volunteers. We have a general meeting every third Wednesday of the month for political education, workshops, moving our issue-based campaigns, and planning upcoming events. A Just Chi is specifically for Asian/Asian American community members, including multi-racial people. New folks are always welcome!
In September, A Just Chi leader Kumar Ramanathan facilitated a workshop about Chicago’s City Budget. Kumar broke down the allocation of the city budget, the budget process in theory and practice, and the connection between the mayor and the budget. We ended the workshop with potential points of intervention and organizing opportunities!
Our October A Just Chi meeting is a virtual gathering, on October 19th from 6-8pm, will feature a workshop hosted by Voting Rights Legal Fellow Kim Leung! Do you want to hear about the state of language access in civic engagement processes across Chicago? Are you curious about voter protection and increasing voter accessibility? We’d love to have you at our next AJC meeting!
