Teaching the Japanese American WWII Experience

We invite teachers, administrators, and stakeholders to learn about the Japanese American WWII camp and military experience.

There will be a panel comprised of Japanese Americans who were children in the WRA incarceration sites during WWII. Additionally. lessons, activities and resources developed by the National Veterans Network (NVN) and Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center that align with the TEAACH Act will be presented to implement in your schools today. Elementary and Middle School teachers will receive information about an upcoming 3-day Teacher Training Institute to be held this summer at the Smithsonian in Washington, DC.
