Many Voices, One Heart is a collaborative, family-friendly musical presentation uniting several of Chicago’s leading Asian performing arts organizations for a vibrant evening of cross-cultural musical exchange.

Led by Friends of the Gamelan (FROG), the event brings together Indonesian gamelan, the Cambodian Traditional Music Ensemble of the National Cambodian Heritage Museum, Japanese taiko drumming (wa-daiko) by Kokyō Taiko Chicago, and Crossing Borders Music in a fusion segment.

For the first time in a Night Out in the Parks setting, these ensembles will share a single stage to highlight the distinctions, resonances, and creative intersections among Southeast and East Asian musical traditions. Each ensemble will offer a 20–30 minute performance, preceded by brief artist-led introductions that contextualize instruments, repertoire, and cultural significance, followed by an open Q&A to support meaningful community engagement.
